Pool 101 Rummy Rules and Elimination

What is Pool 101?

Pool 101 is a multi-deal Indian Rummy format. After each deal, the winner receives zero and every other player's penalty is added to a running total. A player is eliminated when that total reaches or exceeds 101 points.

Deals continue until only one player remains below the threshold. That player wins the match.

Start and score each deal

Play every deal using the standard 13-card declaration rules. Verify the winner, calculate each losing hand, and add the penalties to the scoreboard before dealing again.

• Valid declarer: 0
• Losers: unmatched-card penalty
• Running total: previous total plus the new penalty
• Elimination: total of 101 or more

Elimination example

Pooja begins a round with 90 points and receives a 15-point penalty. Her new total is 105, so she is eliminated. Neha, Arjun, and Suresh continue to the next deal.

Danger range

A player at 80 or more points is close enough that one maximum-size penalty could end the match. RummyPoints marks this as the danger range so everyone can see who is at risk before the next deal.

Agree on re-entry before starting

Some Pool games permit a limited re-entry. In RummyPoints, the host can allow one re-entry per player. An eliminated player returns at one point above the highest current active-player score, capped below the elimination limit, and the choice remains under host control during the active game.
